WELCOME TO CHILDHOOD STROKE & HEMIPLEGIA CONNECTIONS OF ILLINOIS

CSHC is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children who survived a stroke and/or who have symptoms of hemiplegia or hemiparesis from any cause.  We exist to increase awareness about pediatric stroke and hemiplegic cerebral palsy and to provide education, resources, recreation, and access to research for families affected by these disorders.

CSHC began in 2002 as an information and support group for families local to the Chicago metropolitan area.  We have grown into a recognized U.S. authority on children with stroke and/or hemiplegia, forming connections with the U.K., the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, and the National Stroke Association to further our mission.  Now, families from other states regularly attend our monthly meetings as we continue to uniquely serve these children by providing the only opportunity nationwide for their families to connect – in-person and on-going – with other families, medical professionals, research scientists, and the larger community of resources.

To find out more about us and what we can offer you, please visit our About CSHC page.

Please see our Donation page to find out how you can help support our mission of education, awareness, advocacy and research.
